Indications for Use: Saxagliptin PSK is indicated for use in adults aged 18 years and older for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus, as an adjunct to diet and exercise, to improve glycemic control as:

• monotherapy (when saxagliptin is used alone);
• initial combination therapy (when a combination of saxagliptin and another drug is used) with metformin;
• combination therapy with metformin, thiazolidinediones, sulfonylureas derivatives, metformin and sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors, metformin and sulfonylureas derivatives, or insulin (including in combination with metformin), in cases where adequate glycemic control is not achieved with the respective therapy.

This product is included in the Essential Drug List (EDL).
